REFLECTIVE SUMMARY

Throughout my internship journey, the identification of myself as a unique ESL practitioner was visible with effective and ineffective aspects of teaching. In this section, a reflective summary will be explained by highlighting the effective and ineffective aspects of the lessons, the use and importance of materials, reflection of the reaction of students and the professional growth I was able to get at the end of the teaching practicum. Effective aspects I always did interactive pre tasks as small games (sorting nouns, complete the lyrics of the songs, verb charades). Belief about Education and Role of a Teacher As I think education is the most powerful weapon one can have in the world to shape his/her future. Based on this belief, the role of a teacher in a classroom is like a plant caretaker. The caretaker should nurture the plant with care and protection to make it grow using the relevant fertilizer, water, and sunlight based on the type of the plant. In the same way, teacher’s duty in the classroom is to make the plants like children grow by providing them with necessary knowledge and support. Teacher should have a sound knowledge about each student and their proficiency level to help them grow successfully.
